The Period Notifier

The Period Notifier is a web application that displays system date, time, period, period duration and type of day:

• Date: System date
• Time: System time
• Day: Day 1, 2, 3, 4, or a Miscellaneous Day.
• Period: Tells the user what period class it is or if it's afterschool
• Notes:
  • Tells the user what type of schedule is expected for the day
  • Weekend = Appears on weekends
  • Timing is subject to error due to javascript loading speed

Top bar:

• Displays title of the web app
• Period and period duration appears when on another page
• Used to return to home page

Bottom bar:

• School icon: Link to CHS home page
  • Press top bar to return to home, DON'T PRESS BACK BUTTON
• Calendar icon: Link to CHS calendar
  • Press top bar to return to home, DON'T PRESS BACK BUTTON
• Clock icon: Link to full schedule; changes if homeroom day
  • Opens dialogue box
• Heart icon: Link to credits and author notes
  • Opens dialogue box
  • School time difference
• Info icon: Link to instructions
  • Navigates to this instructions page

Orientation:

• Portrait/Vertical: Top/bottom boxes appear all the time
• Landscape/Horizontal: Top/bottom boxes appear sometimes
  • Older phones may experience disappearance of the bottom bars
