Each year, the submissions to this magazine have exceeded high expectations. We are continually astonished by students' ability to articulate and depict a range of emotions that can be so difficult to capture. Thank you to all those who submitted this year, and of course, thank you to all of our readers for comprising the audience that these students truly deserve. See the latest edition of Prologue here!

Mrs. Savino is one of ten finalists for the Princeton University Prize for Secondary School Teaching!

As the CHS Teacher of the year 2022 Mrs. Savino was nominated for the Princeton University Prize for Secondary School Teaching. She applied in December of 2022 using an extensive application process. She said "the most touching part of the application process was the requirement to get two letters of recommendation from former students. I asked CHS graduates Matthew Zatorsky and Michael Brodbeck to write letters for me. Both letters were tremendously sincere and heartfelt that they brought me to tears. I was overwhelmed by the amount of support from the students and staff throughout the process." Mr. Cantagallo suprised her with the news that she was one of the top 10 finalists in the state for this presidential award about two weeks ago. She learned that the next steps would include an on-site visit by a Princeton University representative who would come to interview me, a panel of my peers, my supervisor Ms. Rendek, Mr. Cantagallo, and a group of my students. In addition to those interviews, the representative would have to observe her teaching two different levels or subjects as well. The Princeton representative came to CHS on Monday, February 13th and stayed with her for the entire day. We wish Mrs. Savino luck as the process continues!
